A truck driver escaped with minor injuries after the vehicle he was driving lost control and caught fire at the N3 South and N12 West, split near the Elands Interchange in Germiston.
The incident occurred on Thursday around midday, with the driver, who was alone in the truck, managing to get out before the vehicle was completely covered in flames.
He was later taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Emergency services responded to the scene and temporarily closed sections of the N12 westbound and N3 southbound roads to carry out rescue and firefighting operations.
Authorities said the road closures were expected to remain in place until later in the afternoon while crews worked to clear the scene.
