Limpopo musician Lehlogonolo “Shebe Maburna” Chauke is expected to return to the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for his third attempt to secure bail. Maburna is facing 21 charges, including four counts of attempted murder.

The latest application follows previous unsuccessful attempts to secure his release. His earlier bail appeal was dismissed by the Polokwane High Court, leaving him in custody as his criminal case continues.

Maburna’s legal team is expected to present arguments in support of his release, while the State is expected to oppose the application. The defence has previously raised several factors in support of bail, including issues relating to Maburna’s personal circumstances.

The court will consider the arguments presented by both the defence and the prosecution before deciding whether there are sufficient grounds to grant bail. The State is expected to outline its concerns about his possible release.

The case has attracted considerable public interest due to Maburna’s profile as a musician in Limpopo. He remains presumed innocent until proven guilty, and the court’s decision on Wednesday will determine whether he can be released on bail while the criminal proceedings continue.
