Brazil winger Raphinha has taken on another major responsibility after being confirmed as the national team’s captain whenever regular skipper Marquinhos is unavailable.

Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed the decision, highlighting Raphinha’s development and influence within the squad.

“Raphinha is now at the next level,” Ancelotti said, underlining the importance the winger has gained in Brazil’s plans.

The announcement comes just days after Raphinha was handed Brazil’s iconic number 10 shirt, a number traditionally associated with some of the country’s greatest footballers.

Now, with the captaincy added to his responsibilities, the Barcelona star enters a new chapter with the national team.

The 29-year-old has increasingly become an important figure for Brazil, both on and off the pitch. Wearing the number 10 while also carrying the captain’s armband places even greater expectations on his performances and leadership.

For Raphinha, the combination of the number 10 shirt and captaincy represents a significant milestone in his international career.

Brazil will now look to the winger to provide creativity, leadership and attacking quality as the team continues its preparations under Ancelotti. Number 10. Captain. Leader. The Raphinha era is taking shape.
