A 28 year old man wanted due to connection with the alleged rape and robbery of an elderly woman in Ga-Sekgopo.
He is now in police custody after his mother handed him over to authorities.The suspect, Sello Modiba, was arrested in Mosata , Ga-Sekgopo after being on the run for nearly a month. His mother reportedly assisted police by taking him to the Modjadjiskloof Police Station.
The arrest relates to an incident that occurred on 13 August 2026, when an elderly Pensioner was allegedly raped and robbed during a housebreaking at her home.
Police have indicated that Modiba remains a suspect and that the DNA and forensic investigations will determine whether he was involved in the attack. He is expected to appear in court this week.
The arrest has brought relief to residents of Ga-Sekgopo, particularly in Mosata, where concerns have been growing, following reports of attacks on elderly women.
