Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged BRICS member countries to reduce trade barriers and create more opportunities for businesses, start-ups and small enterprises across the bloc.
Speaking at the opening of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, Modi proposed that BRICS nations support 100 BRICS start-ups each year and work towards creating 1 000 new business partnerships annually to help companies expand into new markets.
Modi said stronger cooperation in agriculture, healthcare, skills development and innovation could improve access to markets and finance, benefiting businesses across member states.
He also emphasised the importance of secure sea routes, freedom of navigation and the empowerment of women entrepreneurs through the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance.
