Former Kaizer Chiefs player, Junior Khanye, has called for more from midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa, questioning whether the player is offering enough to the Soweto giants.

Khanye believes Mthethwa needs to make a bigger contribution to the team and has also argued that Kaizer Chiefs need to bring in more quality players to strengthen the squad.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Khanye suggested that if Mthethwa is unable to provide more for the club, his departure could have been considered instead.

His comments come as pressure continues to surround Kaizer Chiefs, with expectations always high at one of South Africa’s most supported football clubs.

The club’s supporters expect players to consistently perform and contribute towards the team’s ambitions.

Khanye’s remarks are likely to spark debate among the Khosi Nation, particularly over Mthethwa’s performances and whether the midfielder has done enough since joining the club.

The bigger question is whether the responsibility lies solely with individual players or whether Kaizer Chiefs also need to improve the quality and balance of the squad.

With the season continuing, Mthethwa and his teammates will have an opportunity to respond on the pitch.

What does the Khosi Nation think?
