Three suspects aged, between 30 and 33 are expected to appear in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on 5 October 2026 after being linked to the alleged theft and sale of an examination paper that took place a decade ago.

The case dates back to November 2015, when six students allegedly obtained an examination paper before it was written. The paper was allegedly circulated among students and sold for about R250 a copy.

The Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation team in Musina recently tracked down the three suspects in Tshilamba, Khubvi and Thohoyandou, where they were served with J175 summonses to appear in court. The suspects face fraud charges, while investigations into other people linked to the matter are continuing.

Limpopo Hawks Provincial Head Major General (Adv.) Gopz Govender said the development shows that accountability does not disappear with time, and reaffirmed the Hawks’ commitment to pursuing fraud cases until they are brought before the courts.
