Tony Forbes, the father of the late rapper AKA, is unhappy with Madlanga Commission.
The father expressed extreme disappointment that his son’s last moments were shown on television during a recent inquiry. Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane were shot and killed in Durban on February 2023.
During the testimony of Sergeant Fannie Nkosi in the previous week, hidden information about the murder of the two was made public.
The Commission’s spokesperson, Jeremy Michaels, confirmed that they received a letter from Tony Forbes about the matter. Michaels said it was a pity they heard about the family’s anger through the media first and promised to address the issue privately.
Sergeant Nkosi also shared new information during the hearing. He revealed that Tibz was the nephew of a taxi businessman named Mthakathi Mswazi. Mswazi is allegedly linked to the criminal underworld.
The Forbes family requesting respect and privacy as the investigation into the two deaths continues.
