Turfloop – Excitement filled the air last weekend as the former SRC Secretary-General, popularly known as “Minister,” hosted a lively campus wedding that brought together students, local businesses, and entertainers in a unique celebration.
The event, which has quickly become a highlight on the student social calendar, invited students to register their names for a chance to participate in a symbolic wedding ceremony.
From the list of hopeful participants, one lucky pair was selected to take on the roles of bride and groom.
Unlike last year’s edition, this year’s celebration was expanded to include special guests, among them Lekompo artists and well-known Limpopo influencers.
Their presence added glamour and heightened excitement, drawing large numbers of students to the event.
According to the organiser, the primary aim of the campus wedding is not only to entertain students but also to create opportunities for local businesses to showcase their services.
Several sponsors contributed to the success of the occasion, including Burgersfort Event and Décor, Duza’s Barbershop, and Van Smoke Beauty Studio, among others.
The ceremony was held at Dijong Lifestyle, where students gathered to witness the festivities.
Following the formal proceedings, celebrations continued with an after-party that allowed attendees to socialise and enjoy music and entertainment late into the evening.
The event successfully blended student engagement, local entrepreneurship, and cultural entertainment, reinforcing its growing reputation as one of the university’s most anticipated social gatherings.
