Will the Nedbank Cup sponsors still benefit from the Tournament?

Ndwalo Tekolo

Fans were divided in their reactions after South Africa’s top three teams were eliminated from the Nedbank Cup 2026.

This has led to criticism and questions about match attendance and viewership, even though games featuring teams like Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, and Mamelodi Sundowns traditionally drew fans from across the country to watch South African football.

Supporters are now wondering whether stadiums will be filled and if sponsors will see significant benefits from these matches. These concerns arose as football enthusiasts saw the eight teams advancing to the quarter-finals of the #NedbankCup.
