Malesela Andries Mehlape, a 43-year-old former police officer, faces charges of intimidation, arson and murder.
Mehlape returned to court at the Mankweng Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 26, 2025 as the murder accused. This all because he allegedly stabbed his 14-year-old stepdaughter, Rebotile Moloto, to death on March 14, 2025.
The case has been postponed to November 28, 2025 for the Director of Public Prosecution to decide whether the trial will be held in Regional or High Court, where Mehlape will defend himself.
