Mamelodi Sundowns have received a boost with Monnapule Saleng reportedly back in full training with the first team.

The winger’s return comes after a difficult period that saw him separated from the senior squad earlier in the season.

Saleng, who joined Sundowns after making his name at Orlando Pirates, has been working to get himself back into contention. His return to full training could now give him an opportunity to rebuild his place within the team.

The 28-year-old previously impressed during his breakthrough spell at Pirates, earning individual recognition and becoming one of the most exciting attacking players in South African football.

His ability to play on either flank and create opportunities could provide Sundowns with another attacking option. However, returning to training does not automatically guarantee a starting position.

Saleng will have to compete with the other attacking options in Miguel Cardoso’s squad and prove that he is ready to contribute consistently.

With Sundowns competing on multiple fronts, Saleng’s return could become an interesting storyline as the season progresses.

The question now is simple: can Monnapule Saleng force his way back into the starting XI?
