Witty Morategi Malikana (46) was remanded in custody after appearing before the Kgapane Magistrate’s Court, on a charge of dealing in dagga.
Malikana was arrested on 17 September 2026 at around 13:15 after members of the Mopani Tracking Team intercepted a maroon Toyota Hilux in the Modjadjiskloof area following information about a suspicious vehicle travelling on the R36 towards Tzaneen.
Police discovered 19 compressed bags of dagga concealed inside the vehicle. The drugs weighed 196.905kg and have an estimated street value of R108 350. The dagga, vehicle and cellular phones were seized.
The case was postponed to 22 September 2026 for further police investigations, while Malikana remains in custody.
