Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou believes his side has developed into a difficult team to beat, describing the Buccaneers as a “point machine” following their strong run in the league.
Ouaddou made the comments as Pirates continue to challenge for the top position in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
According to SoccerBeat, Orlando Pirates are currently just one point behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, while also having a game in hand.
The Pirates coach highlighted the difficulty opponents face when playing against his team, saying: “It is difficult to play against Pirates. We became a point machine.”
The statement reflects Pirates’ ability to consistently collect points and remain competitive in the title race. Their position also puts pressure on Sundowns, who will need to keep their own form as the season progresses.
With a game in hand, Pirates have an opportunity to close the gap at the top and potentially move into first place. However, the title race stays open, with both sides needing consistency over the rest of the campaign.
Ouaddou’s comments have also sparked discussion among football supporters, with many now watching closely to see whether the Buccaneers can turn their current momentum into a serious challenge for the PSL crown.
