Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente is set to continue leading the national team after reaching an agreement with the Spanish Football Federation on a new contract that could keep him in charge until 2030.
Spanish Football Federation president Rafael Louzán confirmed that the agreement has reached the signing stage, paving the way for De la Fuente to extend his tenure.
De la Fuente has enjoyed significant success since taking charge of Spain. Under his leadership, Spain won the UEFA Euro 2024, showing themselves as one of Europe’s leading international teams.
The new deal would also see De la Fuente oversee Spain during the 2026 FIFA World Cup and potentially through to the 2030 World Cup, which Spain will co-host alongside Portugal and Morocco.
His continued appointment provides Spain with stability as the national team prepares for another major international tournament.
With important competitions ahead, attention will now turn to whether De la Fuente can build on his success and guide Spain to further international honours.
The deal is reportedly at the signing stage, with De la Fuente set to remain at the helm until 2030.
