The KwaZulu-Natal Public Works and Infrastructure Department has achieved its first-ever clean audit.
The department attributes the achievement to strict financial controls, improved accountability and, reforms introduced by MEC Martin Meyer. Departmental spokesperson Steve Bhengu says the clean audit will boost investor confidence.
Bhengu says securing the clean audit for the first time demonstrates the department’s commitment to becoming an evolved and trustworthy partner for the private sector, investors, developers and major financial institutions, with the aim of unlocking infrastructure development and growth potential.
