From viral DJ to Global Icon: Uncle Waffles fronts adida’s 2026 super campaign.

Eswatini-born Amapiano DJ and producer, Uncle Waffles has once again stepped onto the global stage after being selected to lead the Spring 2026 “Superstar: The Original” campaign by sportswear giant Adidas.

The campaign celebrates the legacy of the iconic Adidas Superstar sneaker and highlights creativity, individuality and cultural influence.

The internationally recognised DJ joins a line-up of global cultural icons featured in the campaign, including Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson, K-pop star Jennie, supermodel Kendall Jenner and rapper Baby Keem.

Together, the group represents a blend of music, film, fashion and pop culture from around the world.Uncle Waffles will also play a significant role in the campaign’s regional rollout as the face of the brand in South Africa.

According to Adidas, her involvement brings a “homegrown perspective” that connects global fashion heritage with the vibrancy of African street culture.

Born Lungelihle Zwane in Eswatini, Uncle Waffles has become one of the most influential figures in the global rise of Amapiano genre.

Her journey to fame began in 2021 when a video of her DJ performance went viral on social media, quickly transforming her from a local performer into an international sensation.

Since then, she has built a successful career through high-profile collaborations, energetic performances and a rapidly growing global fan base.

Her continued partnership with Adidas, which began in 2025 when she joined the brand’s lifestyle portfolio, marks another milestone as she continues to represent Amapiano and African culture on the world stage.
