Controversial Limpopo musician Lehlohonolo Katlego Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt, made another appearance at the Polokwane Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.
The artist faces a string of serious charges, nine in total – including three counts of attempted murder.
His legal troubles have continued to attract public attention since December 2025, when his bail application was denied by the court.
Shebeshxt’s attempt to overturn that decision was equally unsuccessful. On 9 January 2026, the Polokwane High Court dismissed his appeal to be released on bail, effectively keeping him behind bars as he awaits trial.
The decision was met with mixed reactions from his supporters and critics, many of whom continue to debate the fairness of his ongoing detention. In his latest court appearance, proceedings were brief but significant.
The Polokwane Magistrates’ Court announced that the case has been postponed to 27 March 2026.
The postponement aims to allow for administrative arrangements to transfer the matter to the regional court and to secure a new trial date. The delay marks yet another chapter in the embattled musician’s ongoing legal saga.
While fans continue to rally behind him on social media, the seriousness of the charges against Shebeshxt means his legal journey is far from over.
All eyes now turn to March, when the next phase of the high-profile case is expected to unfold.
