Lieutenant General ,Shadrack Sibiya, the suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner, highlights that he and the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant, General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, had a solid working relationship for years.

Things apparently took a turn after the arrests of the individuals suspected of murdering Kiernan Forbes, who was commonly known as AKA.Sibiya told the Parliament’s AdHocCommittee today that his issues began when he contacted the Deputy Provincial Commissioner to get information on suspect arrests instead of going through Mkhwanazi, stating that he was trying to avoid delays.

Sibiya mentioned that the Deputy Commissioner requested him to contact Mkhwanazi because he was not impressed, and since he had a good relationship with Mkhwanazi, he called him back, but he was stunned when Mkhwanazi sounded very aggressive towards him.

Sibiya mentioned that he met Mkhwanazi at a meeting with Minister Senzo Mchunu where they made peace, and Mkhwanazi later invited him to an award ceremony in Durban.

However, when asked about attending the event, Sibiya told Parliament that he attended, then quickly corrected his statement, saying he did not attend.
