A man aged 43-years-old from Thabazimbi in Limpopo was freed on bail by the court after his son who is 11 years old accidentally shot and killed a farm worker on Saturday morning.
The magistrate court in Thabazimbi realeased the man on R3,000 bail on Monday, 13 October, after being charged with negligent handling of a fire arm. It has been reported on Sunday that a farm labourer was ’’accidentally’’ shot dead, allegedly by an 11-year-old boy shooting guinea fowl on Saturday morning.
Spokeperson Col Malesela Ledwaba said ” the police were called after reports of a shooting. On arrival they identified the body of a man, estimated to be aged around 30 , with a bullet wound .
The victim was declared dead by the medics at the scene. “In provision of the child justice act the child will undergo an assessment process,” Ledwaba said.
“To protect the identity of the minor child involved in the incident the identity of his father cannot be disclossed.”
