THREE people were brutally killed, and one badly injured after a spade attack.
The incident occurred in Dilopye in Hammanskraal, Tshwane on Tuesday the 30th of September 2025. This left the residents are shocked and traumatised.According to Rose’s brother, Desmond Marahane , he last spoke to his sister around 6:07pm while he was at work. 20 minutes later, he received a disturbing call urging him to rush home.
Soon after, police confirmed the devastating news that his sister and nephew were murdered.Desmond said the suspect allegedly first attacked Rose with a spade. He then walked down the street, entered a yard where children were playing, and hit little Kelebogile with the same spade. The suspect then followed Rose into another yard and hit her again, eventually killing her.
Sibusiso Langatshe, Rose’s partner, was also attacked and died at the scene. Another person, whose identity has not yet been released, was left seriously injured.“What happened here is painful. I lost a sister and my nephew,” said Desmond. “this man is a community member in Dilopye. Even if he goes to jail, I won’t be satisfied because he’s still alive whereas I won’t ever see my sister and her child again.” Desmond added.
The violent incident of the attack has left residents shocked and deeply traumatised. Families of the victims are devastated and are calling for justice to be served quickly and firmly.Police have launched an investigation, and the 37-year-old suspect remains in custody.
The horrific spade attack that has left the community traumatised and mourning.The victims were identified as Rose Baloyi (33), her son Kelebogile Baloyi (3), and Sibusiso Langatshe (32), who was Rose’s partner.
A 37-year-old man, reportedly a known community member, has been arrested in connection with the crime.
