Durban community protests after 8-year-old Aphelele Dlamini’s fatal elevator shaft fall. The community is calling for justice for the family.
Aphile and Aphelele Dlamini were having fun on the fourth floor when they fell to the basement. The boy unfortunately died, and his twin sister is fighting for her life in a coma.
Their father is also in question of the police’s conduct towards the case, saying they only visited the scene days later and misplaced his first statement. Police have confirmed opening an inquest docket for investigation.
Authorities have advised Dlamini to issue a report to the station commander about the police’s micsconduct
