Kaizer Chiefs had a game yesterday at FNB Stadium which ended up going to penalties after a draw in 180 minutes of play, with neither team leading as they had the same score.
They were playing against Angola’s Kabuscorp, and the match was decided by penalties, ending 5-4. “It is a very big relief to go through to the next round, and it’s important to create that positive winning momentum in every player’s mind.”
Amakhosi were the first to score before Kabuscorp managed to push the game into penalties. Kabuscorp played hard, fighting to level the match.
“I think in the first half we had three or four opportunities to score, and going into the second half, we didn’t play as well as we had hoped. There were also instances of some fighting on the field which disrupted the flow of the game,” said Kaze.
The next round of the CAF competition will take place on 17 and 18 October, where Chiefs will play against the winner between Simba DC and Djamel of Comoros.
