Three suspects have appeared in court again for allegedly stealing money from President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm.
The case is being heard at the Modimolle Regional Court in Limpopo.The suspects are accused of stealing about 580 000 US dollars from the farm.
The alleged theft happened in February 2020.In the previous court hearing, the state’s 21st witness testified.
The investigating officer is expected to continue giving evidence in court.
The officer told the court that statements were collected from several witnesses during the investigation.
One witness was later declared a hostile witness by the court after giving evidence that was different from earlier statements.
The witness claimed that police forced him to sign a confession statement. However, the investigating officer denied the claim and said the statement was given voluntarily.
The court will continue hearing more evidence as the case continues.
